local gyms suck...
actually, I'd avoid Hard Rock at all costs. Other than Team FAST training down stairs, it's just a let down and hasn't been kept up. At least once a month he locks the door because he isn't making enough money.
Front Street Fitness in Coeburn just opened for 24/7... there is always someone on staff there. They have a sauna, tanning, and new stuff.
Fitness Five is owned by the Coleman's of Norton. It doesn't have a huge selection of things. The only problem I could see with it, becoming a hang out for the family and friends (teens, etc).. but they're really nice and great people.
Extreme Fitness in Wise is ok. It's 24 hour access, you get a card, and can do a family plan to be cheaper.
However, these days, you can really get great workouts from Men's Health and buy home equipment to workout at home. The only thing is, at home, we all feel way to comfortable. When you're at a gym, you are wanting to impress and show someone you can do this and that and actually put forth more effort.
Went to Fitness Five the other day for the first time, they dont have the back part done yet...so no lockers etc but they have change rooms. Im not sure the price because I get a discount for being a student but its pretty nice. Went at 5 which is usually prime time and it wasnt too crowded. They give you a pin # to put in right now that changes monthly until they get the card system going, and they have pretty nice equiptment. Also planning on putting in tanning beds and a sauna at some point is what we were told.
